Pictures from Novgorod

Novgorod, on the way to Moscow is one of the oldest towns in Russia with many churches inside and out of its Kremlin. Also Rachmaninov was born there and it used to be a trading post of the 'Hanse'. Its  old suburb on the other side of the river, however, is not in good shape... The last pic shows the remains of the outer town fortification.
